FestItalia, Bucharest - September between 12 and 18 in Herastrau Park
FestItalia, an event which intends to build a small Italy in Bucharest, with the atmosphere typical of popular Italian feasts, will be held between September 12 and 18 in Herastrau Park, the Italian Culture Institute in Bucharest informs. The concert of the Italian folk group Terrasonora will be held on September 12 at 8.30 p.m.
On September 13, 6.30 p.m. the festival continues with a traditional Italian music and dance show organized by Ro.As.It, the Italians’ Association from Romania, which promotes the identity of ethnic Italians in Romania. The event will be followed by a show staged by a group of students from “Dante Alighieri” High School.
On September 15, a circus show will be presented by Parada Romania foundation affiliated to Parada Italia. The show will continue with “improvised” performances of anonymous musicians. Pianist Alfredo Tisocco will also participate.
Jazz lovers can enjoy a concert on September 16, with famous melodies from the traditional Italian music performed in the swing and bossanova versions by Italian and Romanian musicians.
The festival will continue on September 17 , 8.00 p.m. with “60 years of Italian fashion history in the moonlight”. Creations of best known Italian designers since the 50s to the present day will be presented from the collection of Sartirana Foundation Museum from Pavia. The show will be presented by journalist Roxana Iliescu.
The final evening on September 18 will present Marco Finotto with his huge repertoire of Italian pop music and famous opera and operetta arias.
