Impact of political turbulence in Romania: Lowest number of companies set up in last 5 years
Political turbulence in Romania had direct impact on entrepreneurial spirit, the number of companies set up in December 2016 and January 2017 reaching the lowest level in last five years, an analysis made by REGnet.ro company shows.
“Especially in January we could see the lowest demand for our services of setting up companies. Analysing data we noticed that in January 2017 and December 2016, we were at the lowest level of the last five years for companies set up in Romania,” said Cristian Barcan, the founder of REGnet.ro.
The number of new companies set up in January 2017 is 38% below the level of January 2016, which was a good year in this respect, and 15% below previous years. Practically, setting up new companies have not dropped under 4,500 for many years. The analysis was made based on data supplied by the National Office of Trade Registrar and REGnet.ro archive data.
“we see a direct connection between the number of companies set up monthly and turbulence in political life in Romania. From an increase of 10% in December 2015 there was a drop of 11.7% in December 2016. There have not been so few companies set up for years (less than 6,000 cases).
Set up in 2013, REGnet.ro is the first company in Romania which helps people make online changes of the company. 700 companies have used REGnet.ro services so far.
