Job opportunities for young Romanians in the German Bundestag
Every year, approximately 120 young university graduates from 41 countries will have the opportunity to do a 5-month internship as assistants to one of the German MPs, through scholarships granted in cooperation by the Free University of Berlin, the Humboldt University and the Technical University of Berlin; applications for next year are accepted until July 31 2015.
According to the German Embassy in Bucharest, besides their work as assistants, the interns will be able to participate in manifestations organised by the political foundations and to attend lectures at the three universities.
The programme is to be carried out every year from March 1 to July 31, under the patronage of the President of the Bundestag (the German Parliament).
The German Ambassador to Bucharest, Werner Hans Lauk, recommended the young graduates from Romania who speak German to apply for these scholarships.
"The German Bundestag, our national Parliament, represents the heart of democracy in Germany. The International Parliamentary Scholarship programme of the Bundestag is designed for the young people who are interested in politics offering them a unique opportunity to discover the daily activity of the German MPs and to feel the pulse of German politics for five months they will spend in Berlin," the diplomat said.
The Embassy also reminded that 87 Romanian students could see, since 1996, how things work in the Bundestag and how the German MPs do their job.
