Kiev approved a joint patrol at the border with Romania and three other EU states and Moldova
The Ukrainian government adopted a plan with regard to the organisation of a mission of joint patrol at the border with Romania, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary, four states member of the EU as well as with the Republic of Moldova, relates the Interfax Ukraine agency in its electronic page.
According to the agency, resolution no.695 of 8 July was posted on the site of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The plan included the implementation of 201 international agreements signed by the Ukrainian government with the governments of Romania, and Hungary regarding cooperation in the domain of the control of people, goods and transport at border crossing.
The Republic of Moldova was offered the possibility to get into negotiations with a view to the approval of a draft law for the new agreement between the two states as concerns the control of passports ofgoods, and transport at the border crossing with Ukraine.
The service of border guards and the ministry of foreign affairs from Ukraine are obliged to insure the implication with technical assistance from Frontex, the EU group of support of Ukraine the consultative civil mission of EU for the reform of the security sector in Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine) and the EU mission for borderline assistance for the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM).
At the same time, according to the plan, Kiev is going to sign with the Romanian government an agreement with regards to the joint patrol of the borders of the two states.
The document recommends both the improvement of the joint missions of patrol at the borders with border guards from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Republic of Moldova – through joint inspections at the border line with the help of technical gadgets, as well with joint training sessions.
The plan offers notices with regards to the functionality of the contact points from the border line between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, at the exchange of statistics info and analytic info between Ukraine and Romania with regards to the border between the two countries and the signing of the respective protocols.
