LOA to purchase first three HIMARS missile systems signed
The legal procedure for purchasing the first three HIMARS missile systems was completed on Monday by the signing of the Letter of Offer and Acceptance - LOA in accordance with the Foreign Military Sales - FMS programme, in the presence of the secretary of state with the National Defence Ministry (MApN) Mircea Dusa and the Defence Chief of Staff general Nicolae Ciuca, at the MApN's seat, a release by the ministry informs.
The procurement programme is thus proceeding according to the approval of Romania's Parliament under a state contract attributed by the Romanian gov't to the US Administration.
The Law no. 46/2018 for the accomplishment of the "Indirect Fire Support Capability" related to the HIMARS endowment programme has been endorsed on Wednesday 21 February by the Chamber of Deputies, the decisional forum in this case and promulgated by Romania's President on Friday, 23 February.
