Most of Romania's shareholders and business associates are aged between 40 and 49 years, making up 29.78 percent of the total in January, according to data with the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).
A significant share, 27.47 percent, was held by people aged between 30 and 39 years, while those aged between 50 and 59 years made up 17.83 percent of the total. At the same time, more than 174,000 shareholders were aged 60 years and over (14.72 percent), with more than 121,000 aged under 29 years (10.2 percent).
Also in January, there were 776,879 legal entities active in Romania, with individual shareholders/business associates at over 1.18 million. A breakdown by gender shows most of the shareholders/business associates were men (63.48 percent), and 36.52 percent were women.
Same data show the number of traders registered in January 2016 dropped 2.51 percent from the same month of the year before, to 8,288.
