NATO will open regional centers of command in eastern Europe, possibly Romania as well
The North-Atlantic Alliance intends to open ‘command regional centers’ in countries in Eastern Europe, possibly including Romania, announces the Head of Major Staff of the Lithuanian army Jonas Vitautas Zukas quoted by AFP.
The military committee, the higherst military structure of the NATO will organise a reunion of three days in Vilnius, in the presence of the American general Philip Breedlove, the commander of the Allied Forces in Europe, as a result of the worries connected to the Russian policies.
Regional centres of ‘military command and control’ are going to be opened in four-five countries – Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland or Romania’ stated Jonas Vitautas Zukas.
Each centre will have 120 military to command ‘a multinational batalion’ said the Lithuanian official.
