Parliament voted president's request regarding national referendum initiation on anti-corruption fight
Parliament's plenary session issued, on Monday, a pre-approval to President Klaus Iohannis's request regarding the initiation of a national referendum on continuing the anti-corruption fight and ensuring the integrity of the public position.
The decision was made unanimously.
Parliament adopted a decision through which it issued a pre-approval of the initiation by the President of Romania of a national consultative referendum on continuing the fight against corruption and ensuring the integrity of public function, with the recommendation for the question formulated to respect the Romanian Constitution, Law 3/2000 on referendum, the decisions of the Romanian Constitutional Court (CCR) and the recommendations in the Code of practice on Referendums adopted by the Venice Commission.
