PM Ponta on the agreement singed in Minsk: "nobody has illusions" on it
The United States of America trust Romania as its most trustworthy partner in the region, the Prime minister Victor Ponta said on Thursday, in Washington D.C., after several meetings with US officials, adding that after the agreement in Minsk has been signed "nobody has illusions" that the accord is a guarantee that all the issues of the region are solved.
"Absolutely yes and I don't believe anyone has illusions - neither in Romania, nor in Washington - that what has been signed today (Thursday - editor's note) is 100% that all the region's issues are solved. May God be so, yet a lot of memorandums were seen and, afterwards, in the real life, things were not at all so," Victor Ponta told the Romanian Antena 3 tv broadcaster.
The Prime minister underlined that there still were worries regarding the situation in Eastern Ukraine and the possibility for the conflict to extend. He made these statements exclusively for the Sinteza Zilei (Daily Roundup), after a series of meetings with Washington officials and representatives of large US companies.
