Training ship TCG Sokullu Mehmet Pasa (A-577) of Turkey's Navy docked in the Port of Constanta

The training ship TCG Sokullu Mehmet Pasa (A-577) of Turkey's Navy, currently in an instruction march in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, docked on Tuesday in the Port of Constanta for a three-day stopover. 

According to a press release of Mircea cel Batran Naval Academy of Constanta, during the visit paid to Constanta, on 12-15 July, the Turkish side will pay official visits to local authorities, Fleet Command and to the Mircea cel Batran Naval Academy. During the meeting, the sides will identify new opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of navy education, the release says. 

Participating in the training march of the Turkish ship there are two students of the Mircea cel Batran Naval Academy, with the practice voyages onboard training ships of Turkey by the students of the Constanta-based academy having become a tradition and part of the internationalization strategy of the Mircea cel Batran Naval Academy. 

The training ship TCG Sokullu Mehmet Pasa (A-577) is 98.8-m long, 11.8-m wide, has a draft of 4.4 m and can reach a speed of about 20 knots. The training march will last for a month, and the ports where the ship will have stopovers are La Valletta (Malta), Barcelona (Spain) and Toronto (Italy).
